I find myself enjoying the new Madonna album. Not sure what this means. I guess the sticky sweet Fischerspooner/Daft Punk/Felix/Annie beats and synths are just too powerful. All aspirations of cynical music snob posing melt under Madonna’s ray of light (reflected off a giant mile-wide disco ball in the sky).
In other news, I also just grabbed the new Shpongle album, “Nothing lasts… but nothing is lost”. Mind-expanding, to say the least (check the album cover). Best served with mood-altering botanicals. I love the sound of their spanish-guitar-trance fusion. It’s giddily energetic - trancey but organic. Most rewarding listen I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended.

Happy to see confessions of enjoying this musical delight. This album definately lives up to all the purple unitard / bathing suit moves released in advance. Once again Madonna reinvents herself with a strong album!
i agree. i would call this album a guilty pleasure, but i’m choosing to not feel any guilt, and just enjoy it.
