total health makeover

I’m taking another shot at healthy living - cutting out meat, dairy, refined sugar and caffeine. I’ve been inspired to do this by a book Krista brought home from the library: Marilu Henner’s Total Health Makeover. Don’t feel much different but it’s interesting noticing my cravings for sugar and caffeine - they’re quite strong. It’s a worthwhile experiment just noticing my body’s subconscious addictions.

marilu henner is cool. she’s everywhere yet nowhere at the same time.
too bad she titled her book that starts with a deadline. Eg. "The 30 day", "In 24 hours", "1 minute".

This book is pretty much everything I hate about contemporary typography.
I’ve got nothing against "The 30 day total health makeover", but i’d _never_ pick it up.

    why?
That "Special" tag that used to be on meat that was coming up on it’s expiry date, except this one is blue.
    30!

it’s the expiry date on your unhealthy body/life.

Well, gimmicks makes things sell (the blue star thing). And if it was a really good book, and is worth reading.. then by all means do whatever it takes to sell it.

Can’t judge a book by it’s cover. But you aren’t gonna pick it up to read it if it looks uninteresting.

given marilu’s olypian pedigree, i think the blue star is supposed to make us think about finishing in first place. dunno why, exactly, i’d award myself a ribbon for beating myself at a game i defined for myself, but hey, maybe i’m really into symbols.

marilu is OK, but what i really want is to transform into a semi-truck and "roll out!!".
